“The quickest way to having tons of self-esteem is to just be honest with people.”
1. TELL the TRUTH
“When you lie to someone you are telling yourself that they are more important than you” my dad told me that years ago and it makes so much sense.
When you lie, you are telling yourself that who you are isn’t enough, so you must hide facts about yourself.
The quickest way to having tons of self-esteem is to just be honest with people.
2. Act Like Someone With Self-Esteem
Draw boundaries, call people out, speak your mind, tell people you love them, don’t let anyone tell you who you are, chase your goals, don’t compromise with yourself, do things when you say you are going to do them, don’t things you don’t want to do.
3. Laugh at Your Flaws
My friend Maxence Gente said to me on our podcast on language “I was not able to get over my father’s death until I could write a joke about it” now I’m not implying that having a parent die is a flaw, but many of our perceived flaws are a type of trauma.
If we just take a moment to laugh ourselves in the mirror every now and then, we will be on our way to having self-esteem.
4. Don’t Think About “If Only”
One thing I’ve realized about my friends who have tons of self-esteem is that they don’t have regrets.
Which means that they are able to handle things not working out because they knew they never needed those things to be happy.
5. Everything is Happening For Me
This is one of the strongest frames for dealing with hardship and adversity which results in high self-esteem.
Taking the narrative that hardships are happening for your development helps you not make yourself the victim, which is essential for having high self-esteem.
